A Little About Me
- I wrote a book all about my heart-centered approach to LinkedIn, called The Butterfly Strategy. (Get the book!)
- I care more about your message than having perfect grammar. Good writing is about a message that sticks with you… not about getting every single punctuation mark correct.
- My priorities are faith, family, and friends — and being with my grandblessings!
- My mouth always seems to be running ahead of my brain. That’s why I was initially drawn to writing: it allows me to think deeply and communicate with the intention I want to put out into the world.
- I love to highlight others! I love seeing the smiles on people’s faces when we have created copy that says, “Yes! That’s exactly what I wanted to say!”
- My hobbies are scrapbooking, reading, and walking.
What’s the meaning behind “Butterfly Copywriting”?
It’s a story about hope.
Shortly after my granddaughter was born, she and I were sitting outside on a nice fall day, watching her older brothers play in the yard. Suddenly, a beautiful Monarch fluttered right by us, lingered for a few seconds, and then flew up to a nearby tree.
I can’t explain it, but that Monarch reminded me so strongly of my dad, who had died six months earlier. It felt like I could feel him there with us.
Later that afternoon, the Monarch made another appearance. The boys and I were out for a walk when the butterfly winged in front of us and paused on a dandelion. Again, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my dad was present.
Since that day, I call this my “butterfly of hope” because it reminds me that there is still hope and love in this world. I chose the name “Butterfly Copywriting” as a reminder to share those values with others – just like my dad did.
