Inspiring Ordinary People to Create Extraordinary Lives!
Is “it” just a daydream – or could “it” really happen?
You have this desire to be something different, or do something different, but you feel like it’s a daydream. Manifestation is the ability to be able to create circumstances for yourself that you probably just sit and dream about right now. A lot of people feel like it’s for other people, not for them – that success is for somebody else.
I came from a working-class family where I never had a conversation about higher education, but I knew when I started working that I was going to be a success in the workplace. I created an environment where I made that happen.
Is there something you keep thinking about – a vision, an image, or a feeling that keeps coming back to you? It’s like an itch you need to scratch. Take time to discover what the possibilities are to you. I believe that everybody has infinite potential. It doesn’t matter where you come from, what your education is, what your background is, or what challenges you’ve had in your life. We are all deserving of living our fullest life.
Step 1 – Be clear
Is there something you want, such as a better relationship or a better job? Have a strong vision about what you want. This the first step of manifesting.
You need to get really, really clear on what that is. Rather than saying, I want a promotion, be specific what that looks like. I want to be a senior project manager working on a 50,000 square-foot project in central London by October 24. Be specific about what it is and when you want it to happen.
Step 2 – Emotional attachment
The clearer you can about what it is you want, the more you can emotionally attach yourself to it. This is the second step to manifesting – your desire to really want it. Conjure up the emotion within you. Feel what it would be if you were already achieving your dream.
Act as if you already have this dream because that will affect your thoughts, actions, and habits. You need to make your life reflect what you want in the future. If you were already that project manager, how would you be carrying yourself at work? What things would you be saying to yourself? How would you feel about yourself?
Act in those ways now, so you can really connect to what it is you want. Raise the way you think and feel about yourself. What kind of inner chatter do you have? Is it negative, as in “Who am I to think this way” or “I’ll never get there”? Stop. Instead raise your energy levels. Begin feeling worthy of achieving what it is you currently are just daydreaming about.
Step 3 – Heal the past and raise your positive energy
It’s important to heal past challenges in your life. That may mean forgiving yourself or someone else. Not forgiving affects the way you feel about yourself today. Going through an inner healing journey will help to tell yourself more positive thoughts.
You have to feel like you’re worthy of it. If you feel selfish, self-centered, or possibly greedy for wanting more in your life by thinking about it, try this: promise yourself you will give back, once you achieve your dream. For example, when you achieve the senior role, you will give back by making mentoring your team and helping them be the best they can be. Or if you become a millionaire, you will give money to charity.
Whatever it may be, having an element of giving back in your mind, it can help you feel more worthy of receiving.
That’s the first part – heal your past – and the second part is having great energy. Once you feel worthy and have raised how you feel about yourself, you can then spend more time on the things you enjoy. Doing things you love actually can raise your energetic vibration.
For example, I love being out in nature. It makes me feel alive – even getting soaked in the rain. Just being in nature is massive for me. But for you, it may be listening to great music, seeing friends, reading a book, or going on a walk. Whatever it may be, it’s something that tells your brain that you are worthy, that you are prioritizing yourself, acting in your higher self.
With manifesting and the Law of Attraction, the more you put out, the more you receive. If you put out bad energy, such as “this is never going to happen to me,” it probably won’t. But if you say, “it’s mine for the taking” and you are crystal clear on what it is, then the positive energy you put out will come back to you. Like attracts like. Act as if you already got it.
Put out great energy, you will get great energy back. Raising your vibrational energy is really important. Find what makes you feel really great.
Step 4 – Take action
The fourth step in manifesting is take action to reach your goal.
For example, when I was 18, I was working in an accounts department. I never felt particularly fulfilled in what I was doing. A friend of mine at work had a position in the HR department. I thought her job was more interesting than mine. So one day I asked my boss this: if could get my work done in 4½ days, could I spend a half day with HR. He said yes, so I talked to the HR director. She agreed and that’s what I did. I absolutely loved being in HR.
The point is: I took action. I was brave enough at 18 to approach my boss. I took the necessary action to make a change happen.
When I knew I loved being in HR, I started looking for a position in that field. The company I was working for did not have a role for me, but I knew that was the path I wanted to be on. I wrote a letter and sent it to 15 companies I thought I would be happy working for that were located with an hour of my parents’ house.
Fourteen companies rejected me, but one company replied. I ended up going there and starting my HR career. I stayed for 12 years. I had my children during this time and I qualified for night school which I attended for three years. It was a springboard into my career.
I manifested all of this! I was clear on what I wanted. I knew I wasn’t going to get it where I was. I changed my mindset to: “I’m not going to wait for it to come to me. I’m going to go and get it.” I took action!
It’s about having resilience because you need to believe you’re going to get there. Rejections and obstacles are just hiccups on the way. In fact, look at rejection as redirection. Keep going.
Manifest your dreams
Essentially, this is the process of manifesting:
- Be clear on what you want to do or see happen.
- Be emotionally attached to your dream.
- Heal any kind of past trauma, so you feel worthy of getting that success.
- Choose to give back once you achieve it. Raise your vibration.
- Take action.
I think some professional people get scared off by the word “manifest” because they think it’s a bit “woo-woo” for them.
I have manifested everything in my life, including my professional life – and I did it without “qualifications.”
For me, what manifesting means is this: have a vision and create a life that meets your fullest potential.
What I have achieved in my life is phenomenal compared to where I was. I want to show people the possibilities of what they can have.
I want to inspire ordinary people to create extraordinary lives!
